Northside Mission Statement The mission of the Northside Elementary community is to educate all students by fostering high academic standards, developing positive relationships, and encouraging social responsibility in a safe, supportive, culturally diverse environment, leading to students who are successful lifelong learners. Food Allergy Information Due to a number of life-threatening nut allergies among students, Northside School has been designated a "no nut" school. This means that school-provided breakfasts and lunches do not contain nuts (including peanuts, almonds, walnuts, pine nuts, or others), and student lunches, snacks, and bake sale and potluck items should not contain nuts. When bringing food to school, please read ingredient labels carefully and select items that do not contain nuts, including nut oils. For sandwich ideas, see the Top 9 Substitutes for Peanut Butter. Some students have other food allergies which may or may not be made public. Please be considerate of these when sending snacks for sharing in the classroom. Help teach kids five simple steps they can take to keep their classmates safe. For more information about food allergies, visit The Food Allergy and Anaphylactic Network.
